Tibet

Tibet is situated between of two ancients, civilizations of China and India, but the tangled mountain ranges of Tibetan Plateau and the towering Himalayas serve to distance it from both, the Tibetan Languages is a member of Tibet- Burman and branch of sino- Tibetan language family. Tibetan history is characterized by a special dedication to the Buddhist religion both of in the eyes of its own people as well as for the Mongol and Manchu peoples, Tibet is nickname the rood of world or the land of snows.  Beauties of the Tibetan plateaus. Lhasa

As the capital city, Lhasa is the political, economic, cultural, communication and tourist center of Tibet Autonomous Region, Located at the north bank of Lhasa river, the main tributary of Yarlung Tsangpu River, it is an ancient cultural city with a history of over 1,300 years.
In ancient times, Lhasa was called Rasa, literally goat earth in Tibetan words, It is said that Lhasa was originally a marshland, when the Jokhang temple was being constructed after the arrival Princess wencheng to Tibet. Goats carried earth to fill and leavelled up the land, thereby Lhasa got its name.  In Lhasa Mian secnice spots,including Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Drepung monastery etc..

Potala Palace

Standing on the Maburi ( the Color of rock and earth on this hill is red. Therefore the name of hill is called Maburi. Which means Red Hill) at the middle of Lhasa city, Potala Palace is known as the highest Palace in the world. Potala Palace was first built in the 7th century and till now has a history of over 1300years, The architectural art of Potala is harmonious and unified graphic and Manda, specific offering and real life. The Potala Palace collects and preserves a large amount of historic and cultural, relics, including rare, jewelleries, partita-leaf, sutra and Thankas of different, dynasties, brocade of Ming and Qing Dynasty, porcelains, enamelware, jade, articles, diamonds, ritual, implements, folkcraftwork, collections and soon… The white palace is living quarter and administrative area of successive Dalai Lamas, In the four- floor red Palace , there are tomb stupas of successive Dalai Lamas and various shrines and chapels..

Sera Monastery

Located at the foot of serawoze Mountain to the north of Lhasa city, sera monastery is one of the three largest monateries in Lhasa as well as one of the six biggest monateries of Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism in China, It was founded in 1419 by sagya Yeshi a disciple of Tsongkhapa… There have monk  debating session of the monks every day excpet weekend or special days,

Jokhang Temple

Jokhang Temple is the most sacred and oldest Temple in Tibet was founded during the time of the great dharma king Songtsen Gampo in 7 century particularly for the enshrinement of the Buddha Shakyamuni image called Jo Mikyoe Dorjee that was brought to Tibet by princess Brikuti Devi,the Nepalese wife of king Songtsen Gampo as her dowry.In the same time Princess Wengcheng also brought another statue of Buddha for that Ramoche temple was built.   The both of the statues were blessed by Buddha himself in the life time of him.The Tibetan people considered it as Buddha Shakyamuni in the person.So pilgrims are always seen at the main entrance prostrating and paying homage to the Shakyamuni image and purifying their bad sins doing circumambulation to the this holy temple

Namtso Lake

The Namtso Lake, liternally means heaven Lake in Tibetan highest lake in the world, as one of the three holy Lakes in Tibet, it extend 70km from east to west and 30km from south to north, with an area of 1920sq.km and an altitude 4718 meters above sea level, it is the largest Lake in Tibet Autonomous Region, the second largest saltwater in China and highest Lake in the world.. Situated in a mountainous area above 60Km from northwest of Damshong County.. Namtso Lake is considered a rather sacred Lake among Tiebtans.. At every sheep year in Tibetan calendar countless pilgrims from far way come to attend the grand Lake-cricummbulation festival held at the Namtso Lake..

Norbu Linka Palace.

The Norbu Linka means Jewel Garden and summer Palace of Dalai La-mas, located at the west of Lhasa, it covers an area of 36 hectares with its first part built in 1740s. It was a resort for 7th Dalai Lama for bathing in fountain. At that time the commissioner of Qong Dynasty stationing in Tibet built the first palace for 7 th Dalai Lama afterwards, the14 th Dalai Lama had their Palaces bulit there With 200years of expansion and management, it has become a large garden and Palace today…. On holiday, people come here in their best dress and sing and dance till night,by bringing with them tents and food.

Ganden Monastery

Located about 50km to the east of Lhasa in Ta-ktse County, the Ganden Monastery is one of three largest monateries and the first of six monast-eries of Gelug Sect . Ganden lite- to be content with love and pleasure, In early 15th century, Tsongkhapa, the fouder of the Gelug sect, bulit and presided over its constuction. Main buildings in the monastery are the Asembly Hall, Tspmgkapas’s residence and Yangpachen hall, therefore this monastery is regarded as the alma mater of Gelug sect..

Barkor street

Barkhor street is also called eight-corner street, it’s a circular market street surrounding the Jokhang temple, with the establishment of Jokhang temple, this street become a prosperous on which is not only a long circumvallation path but also a walking street with many shops and stores.

Drepung Monastery

Located on the slope of Mt Ganpoi Woze, 5km away from the downtown in the northwest of Lhasa and built in 1416, Drepung monastery is the biggest monastery among the six monasteries of the Gelug sect, in which once lived 10.000monks, it covers an area 250.000sp meters.. The fifth Dalai Lama lived here before , he moved to the Potala Palace. The monastery has a large collection of historical relics and Buddhist scriptures…

Shigatse ,

Situated at the Juncture of Yar Lung Tsangpu river and Nyechu river, Shigatse is an ancient city on the plateau with a history of more than 500years, with an altitude of 3830m, Shigatse coevers a total area of 182.000sq,km With a Population of 635,200,18 counties are under Shigatse was called Nyme. which means the lower reaches of Nyechu river in Tibetan. In the past it belonged to the region of Tsang or the lower- Tibet. During the Tubo Dynasty , the central Tibet was divided in to four rus and this area was Yi Ru and Rula, Druing the Yuan Dynasty with support of the central government of Yuan Dynasty, Pagpa head of the Sakya sect, establishaed Sakya local administrative authority with Sakaya as a center to institute actual control of the all Tibet, Under the administer-action of the Sakya regime were 13 myriarchies ,out of which 4myriar chies were in todays Shigatse area..

Tashilunpo Monastery

Located on the south slope of the Nyima Hill in the west of the city of Shigatse, Tashilunpo monastery was originally bulit in the 1447, which is known as one of six major monasteries of the Gelug sect and largest monastery in the Tsang area. Tsongkhapas 8 disciple Gandun Drupa, who as the 1st Dalai Lama, built it with financial aid form the pagdru regime in September of 1447.. The Monastery was expanded and renovated by 4th,5 th and 6 th Panchen Lamas and become the residence monastery for each successive Panchen Lamas.

Mt Qomolangma (Mt Everest)

On the sion- Nepal border the Mt Qomolangma is located in the middle section of Himalayan range, to the south of Tingri County, The Mt Qomolangma stands as the highest peak in the world with an altitude of 8.844.43m, within the area of 5000sp,km around the peak, altitude of47,000m. The Monastery at the foot of the Mt Qomolangma is the highest monastery in the world, It is only40km away from the peak and is the base camp of mountaineers who climb the summit from the peak… The Mt Qomolangma as one of the most beautiful among the famous mountains in China in 2005….

Rongbu Monastery (Nearby the Everest base camp)
Built in 1899 the Rongbu Monastery was founded by Ngawang Tenzin Norbu ,a Lama of Nyingma Sect. It’s the highest monastery in the world in terms of altitude.  You must visit this monastery,because this monastery is one of highest monastery in the world.

Gyantse Pelkor Choode Monastery

The Pelkhor Chode Monastery is located at the foot of the Tsong Hill in the northwest of Gyantse. The Pelkhor Choode monastery is famous for its remarkable feature of accommodating three sects of Tibetan Buddism in one monastery and coexisting in harmony with each other… The Monastery originally belonged to the Sakya secy and then the Kagyu sect and the Gelug sect extended their influence in it… The monastery was built in late 14th or early 15 century. It consists of the Assembly, Hall the stupa of 100.000 deities, Dratsangs and an enclosure wall.

Sakya Monastery

The artistic prciouse items in the Sakya Monastery are of valumi-nousness and high cultural relic second Dunhuang. Sakya Monastery is located by the two banks of the Drongchu River and one the ridge of the Bonbo Mountain in Sakya county, about 160Km to the west of Shigatse. …

Lhoka (Tsedang)

Lhoka is prefecture is situated to the south of the Gangdisi and the Nychein Tanglha aranges, it covers a vast territory along the middle and lower reaches of the main tribuary of the Yarlung Tsangpu river, it connects with Lhasa the north and Nylingchi in the east.. It joins Shigatse in the west and borders to the Bhutan and India along the Himalayas in the south Lhoka stre-tches 420Km from east to west and 329km from south to north with total area of over 80.000sq,km. There are many ethnic groups in Lhoka such as Tibetan, Han,Hui M,oin-ba and Lhoba such as Tibetan , Han Hui Moin-ba and Lhoba etc.. Tsetang town is the local admi-nistrative seat of Lhoka counties under it’s juris-diction, Lhoka is the car-del of Tibetan civilization.

Yumbu Lhakang Palace.

It is located on the Tashi Tsere hill, about 5km to the southeast of Nedong County of Lhoka. Yumbu lhakang means Female deer, because the Tashi Tsere hill appears, like a female deer and Lhakang mean holy palace. The Yumbu Lhakang is first place in Tibet and was built by Nychi Tsanou the first Tibetan King in 2century..

Samye monastery

Situated at the northern bank of Yarlung Tsangpu river in Dranang county the Samye monastery was built in 779 by Padmasambhava and Trisong Detsen. It is the first Monastery which had tonsured monks, The central chapel is a three -storeyed building with Tibetan style rooms on the ground floor, Han Style rooms on the second floor and Indian style rooms on the thirf floor. Many statues and mural paintings are well kept in the monastery.. The bronze bell, the lion carved of white-jade and monuments of thriving Buddhism in alliance are the priceless treasures.

Yamdro Yongtso Lake.

In NakartseCounty , the Yamdro Tso Lake cavers an area of 800sq,km with an altitude of 4.400m, Yamdro means the upper pastureland Yong means jade and tso means Lake in Tibetan. Yamdro tso Lake which is largest second Lake in Tibet Autonomous region and about 120km from Lhasa.

Ngari

Ngari is located in the west of the Tibet Autonomous region. It stretches from west of the Tanggula Range and connects with the tourism areas the northern Tibet, Ngari stretches to the western section of the Himalayas in the west and south. It borders the Kashmir area, India and Nepal.. In southeast if faces the tourism areas to the southern part of Kunlun Range and Adjoins with Xining jiang Uygur autonomous region in the north ,Ngari, Main senic spots , including Mt Kailash, Lake manasarovar etc..

Mt Kailash

The Mt Kailash is located in the purang county about200km from senge Tsangpa Town and 100km from Purang town. it is at the border between China, Npeal and India with an altitude of 6.656m. it is the major peak of the Gandise range. It has more than 250 glacires and aboundant water resources. The Mt Kailash is the most famous holy mountains as well as the source of many large rivers such as the Ganges, the indus ,and the Yarlung Tsangpa River.. The Mt Kailash is in olive shape piercing up to the sky… Mount kailash is sacred mountain which is situated in Ngari region. It is special holy place of high leveled Buddhist protector who is one of the special of protector of Gelugpa sect Tibetan Buddhist sect and also special place of Milrapa great tantric master who attained enlightenment one in life.It is also holy mountain for the Hindu people because of the holy by their God Shiwa. It would be a very auspi-cious event if pilgrims can visit the holy mountain in the year of the horse.

Lake Manasarovar

It’s located purang county. The lake is the highest freshwater lake in the world, covering an area of 421sp,km with an altitude of 4.587m, The depth of lake is 77m, as one of the three biggest lake in Tibet, every year a lot of pilgrims come to circumambulate the Lake, especially in the year of the horse..
